南仏生まれのブランド、コテ・バスティド。なかなか豊富な品揃えを見ることはありませんが、フレグランスや石けん、キャンドルやリネンウォーターなど香りものは手に入れることができます。私はここのローズのキャンドルが好き。今日は新しく買い足したものに加えて、パリの「RIGAUD」というブランドのキャンドル（Lilasをチョイス）も買ってみました。アロマの優しい香りとはまた違って、香水のような不思議で個性的な香り。キャンドルは日常に欠かせないアイテムです。

春頃になりますかね。カール・ラガーフェルド様がコーラのボトルをデザインしてたなんて全然知りませんでしたが。大層な箱に入ってたり、デザインも、シンプルながら自身のシルエットを大胆にあしらうなどしてますが、中身はコーラですからねえ・・・。（あ、中身の問題じゃないのか。）なんとなく、やはり本家アメリカの「ドドンっ」な感じとは違い、繊細な感じがいいですね。中身はコーラですけどね。限定だったみたいのなので、恐らく今はもうないと思いますが・・・。

友人がえらく感銘を受けていた建築家、ザハ・ハディッド。イラク・バグダッド出身でロンドンをベースに活動しているみたいです。シャネルのモバイルアートも手がけたんですよね。先日庭園美術館に見に行ったロトチェンコなどに代表されるロシア構成主義に強く影響されているんだそう。「絶対好きでしょ」と言われて「うん。」と答えたのは言うまでもありません。建築だけでなくグッゲンハイム（美術館）などで展覧会も行っているみたいで、ポートフォリオを見る限りでは素晴らしい作品ばかりです。一度彼女のエキジビジョンを見てみたいと思います。2012年のロンドンオリンピックの会場となる水泳センター（Aquatics Centre）も建設予定だそうです。どんな個性的な会場が出来るのか楽しみですね。

INVENTORY is very beautiful and worthy of praise magazine, I think. Their design, photography, layout, typography, composition, everything is beautiful, this is highly recommend for creators.

事務所内でも、「今最もイケてる雑誌」と大評判のINVENTORY。多分、デザイナーなら「MONOCLE」に近いのかなと思うでしょう。デザインレイアウトと写真の美しさや文字の使い方、全てに対してこだわりを持って丁寧に作られてるという印象があります。記事の内容は全て英語なので完全に把握するのは至難ですが、見た目の美しさだけではなく、当然のことながら記事の内容もデザイン以上にこだわりを持って書かれているに違いありません。
雑誌としては安くない値段なんですが、電子書籍じゃなくて実際に手に取って読み、本棚にストックしておきたいと思わせるようなものだと感じます。これがWiredみたいなiPadアプリになってしまったらちょっと残念な気がしますね。（そんな風に思う雑誌もあるんだな、と今自分でも不思議に思いました。早く全ての雑誌がiPadで読めるようになってほしいと普段思ってるのに。）彼らのWebサイトもとても素敵です。が、ぜひ一度、雑誌を手に取って見てみてください。
